”Experiencing Mental Health Problems” is ideal for whole teams and organisations, including volunteers and service users, and can be delivered to groups of between 9 and 36 participants.
Consultant: Dr Iain Bourne
This unique course looks at how people who are affected by mental health problems experience their world, and how those about them can help. The training unfolds through a series of true stories that are narrated and dramatised before the group. This helps bring the material to life, and allows participants to consider the experience of a variety of mental health problems both from their own perspective, and that of the service user.
This approach provides a stark contrast to the psychiatric emphasis on disorder, and emphasises the experience of the whole person, whilst providing a fascinating journey through the perplexing world of mental health.
